Muskegon, Mich. - Aug. 25, 2009 - Mercy Health Partners (MHP) today unveiled its new, 15,000-square-foot Mercy Rehab Center to the community in an open house that showcased its physical, occupational and speech therapy services. The spacious center features private treatment rooms, designated speech and pediatric rooms and an on-site therapeutic pool and hot tub.

"Whether a patient is recovering from a traumatic accident, a sports injury, or anything in between, MHP's new Mercy Rehab Center offers a comprehensive program, providing therapy to achieve the most complete recovery possible," said Lisa Rose, Director of Rehabilitation at MHP.

"This new center and the staff continue to put the focus on the patient. We are excited to provide our patients with improved privacy, increased space to perform their rehab program, and increased rehab options. The therapists continue to design a therapeutic program specific to each of our patients' individual needs," Rose said. "Our ultimate goal is to relieve pain, promote healing and help restore a patient's lost function. We believe that with this facility, along with our outstanding, experienced staff, we can meet any rehabilitation need."

The center's on-site therapeutic pool features a patient lift, underwater remote-controlled treadmill and underwater cameras to help therapists monitor a patient's progress.

Mercy Rehab Center's staff of 25 includes a therapy team of licensed physical, occupational and speech therapists and assistants that are able to progress patients through a wide range of rehabilitation services, including back pain, joint pain, neurological rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, stroke rehab, chronic pain management, head injury, post-surgical therapy, sport rehabilitation, general orthopedic rehabilitation and more.

The Mercy Rehab Center is located on the ground floor of the new Orthopaedic Associates of Muskegon and the Muskegon Surgery Center building on the Mercy campus.

"The location will help ensure a seamless progression of care for our rehab patients," Rose added.
