Mercy Health Partners Presents “Creating the Best Generation”

Muskegon, MI, February 12th, 2009

With a special message of hope and health for families, Mercy Health Partners’ Heart & Vascular Institute will present Healthy U–Healthy Families at the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, February 19, 2009.

According to Blair Moreau, manager of Mercy Health Partner’s Mercy H.E.A.R.T. Center, “today’s teens and pre-teens often experience the physical and emotional effects brought on by peer pressure, a lack of self-esteem, and the challenges their families may be undergoing in the face of the current economic times. Many teens feel they don’t measure up, with thoughts that are often associated with a poor body image.”

Mercy Health Partners realizes that many of our communities’ children and teens face issues that affect their health and wellbeing. It is for this reason that the Mercy Heart & Vascular Institute has selected Michael Karpovich, inspirational author and speaker, for this year’s Health U event.

Michael Karpovich, believes that “by cultivating self-esteem in others, we can promote positive self-esteem and develop strong leadership in our youth that can permeate in to our work, community, state, and country.” Michael Karpovich will present:

“Creating the Best Generation”
at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19
at the Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts, Muskegon

In this informative and entertaining presentation, Michael will:
Introduce the idea of excellence for children, families, communities and individuals
Propose the necessity of “capable individuals” for our hurting culture
Introduce methods to strive for excellence and passion
Empower you and your kids to take charge of your health

A Healthy Families Health Fair will precede the evening presentation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Frauenthal Center.

These events are free and open to the public and they are suitable for everyone, including leaders, teachers, community members, and especially families with school-aged children. No reservations are required. For more information, visit www.mercy-healthpartners.org or call 231-672-6966.

Mercy Health Partners’ Healthy U events are made possible through the proceeds from “The Ride” and the support of community partners: WZZM13, BE Healthy, and Armstrongraphics, Inc.
