The Medical Weight Management Program is a 26-week medically supervised program. You will meet with a nurse practitioner for weekly medical visits throughout the program. These visits are used to monitor your progress and provide care for managing weight loss. The nurse practitioner provides updates of your progress to your primary care physician. You will receive nutrition and exercise assessments as well as a motivational assessment. These are used to design your individual nutrition and exercise plans. Our multi-disciplinary team helps you achieve healthy weight loss by developing a plan with you that best meets your individual needs, tastes, and abilities. Our professional weight loss team includes an internal medicine physician, nurse practitioner, a registered dietitian, exercise physiologists, and a psychologist.
There are no supplements required. Rather, the goal is to become healthy by eating regular food, exercising, and modifying previous unhealthy behaviors. The Medical Weight Management clinical staff provides a weekly class with topics alternating between nutrition, behavior, and exercise. Class topics include: Supermarket Safari, Time Management, Your Personal Fitness Profile, Healthy Meals in a Flash, Portion Extortion, Environmental Control, Healthy Dining Out, and much more.
