Women's Health Centers
Breast Care Services
Mercy Health Partners provides many breast health services. No matter if you are expecting, have breast irregularities, or have received a breast cancer diagnosis, we have a dedicated team of breast-care experts ready to help you.
For All Women
Digital mammography is now available at all of our locations throughout West Michigan. Digital mammography is beneficial for all women, but especially for younger women and those with dense breasts. A mammogram can find cancer that is too small for you or your doctor to feel. This new technology allows your radiologist to see your results more clearly. Call 231-672-4800 to schedule a mammogram at our Muskegon locations. To schedule a mammogram at the Lakeshore Campus in Shelby, call 231-861-3007.
For New Moms
Delivery
At Mercy Health Partners, we know the importance of providing a memorable experience for you and your newborn. You can be sure a caring, professional medical team will support your delivery. Our centers include beautiful rooms, comprehensive services, and outstanding facilities that center on your personal comfort, convenience and wishes. Mercy Health Partners' delivery services are available at the Family Birthing Place (Hackley Campus) and the Special Delivery Birth Center (Muskegon General Campus).
Certified Lactation Consultants and Educators
At the Special Delivery Birth Center and the Family Birthing Place, our associates are trained in breastfeeding. Our breastfeeding information classes and support groups can help you have a positive breastfeeding experience. Certified lactation consultants and educators are available to assist new moms wanting to breastfeed.
Breast Pumps
Mercy Health Partners has the Medela breast pumps available for our patients. The Medela pump was first researched and developed for hospitals. It is an advanced pumping system that mimics natural nursing. You can purchase the Medela Pump online at www.hackleyhme.com.
For Women with Breast Cancer
Medical and Radiation Oncology Services
Medical and Radiation Oncology treatments for breast cancer patients are available at the Johnson Family Center for Cancer Care. The center offers the revolutionary MammoSite 5-Day Targeted Radiation Therapy in just five days. This system delivers radiation to the immediate area where cancer is most likely to recur and it can be a very effective option for early-stage breast cancer.
Post-Mastectomy Care
Mercy Health Partners' Orthotics & Prosthetics Department offers a comprehensive range of breast forms and mastectomy bras in a wide array of styles, colors, and sizes. Your fitting will be done by a certified female mastectomy fitter in a comfortable, private room; and will accommodate time for education, instruction, questions and answers. Please call 231-672-4886 (Mercy Campus) or 231-739-2217 (Hackley location) to schedule an appointment. Post-mastectomy fittings and products are also available at the Lakes Campus by calling (231-727-7966).
Lymphedema Therapy
Lymphedema is an accumulation of protein-rich fluids in tissue resulting in swollen, enlarged limbs or skin surfaces, which can occasionally occur after a mastectomy. Lymphedema services are proved by licensed occupational or physical therapists who provide individualized, one-on-one care, and education for self-maintenance after program completion. You can reach the Lymphedema Therapy Program by calling 231-672-3905.
For Breast Cancer Survivors
Breast Reconstruction
For some women, breast reconstruction can be achieved through surgery techniques that restore a breast to near normal shape, appearance, and size following a mastectomy. If you are a candidate for breast reconstruction, your physician will work with you to provide the right breast reconstruction procedure for you. Talk with your doctor about reconstruction options.
Breast Friends - Breast Cancer Support Group
This is an opportunity for women who have or are experiencing breast cancer to share and learn more about diagnosis and treatment options. Breast Friends meets the first Wednesday of every month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lakes Campus. For more information, call 231-672-3368.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Breast Cancer Awareness pins and apparel, including shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags, are available online from Hackley HealthCare Equipment online.
